Our Disgusting Habits

dear fernandes,
lovely post-but i would like to be the champion of the other india-i was a landlord with property
in 13 villages-fortunately for me -my land vanished with land reforms-i lost 300 acres-but i am happy because it has put me in touch with the rest of india-people shit by the side of the tracks because-they have no toilets-do you think you and i would do it consciously-we must understand the other india-i have worked in a charitable hospital for 30 years-and have come to unterstand the tears and suffering of the other-forgotten india-

Fate or Faith?

dear fernandes,
your tale restores my faith in human beings-in the medical college where i teach we had an international twinning programme-and girls came from poland, germany, spain -and all where groped and pawed- and the programme has been cancelled-what is wrong with the indian male?

To Kill A Mockingbird

dear nargis natarajan,
to kill a mockingbird-was one of the books along with uncle toms cabin that i read in my school days which shaped a lot of my attitudes-incidentally this was the authors only book-harper lee if i am not mistaken-akin to salingers -catcher in the rye-books which have gained cult status-
these are books which eventually will be ranked along with  tale of two cities, oliver twistetc-as tales -of changes in attitudes-and tales which brought changes in human conditions-

ps-if you have the time-do read ashok bankers -ramayana-mindblowing-and he is working on an 18 volume reinterpretation of the mahabharatha-a compulsary read -a new interpretation of the epics with reverence to old traditions

dear maria s,
i agree with you-and also i have known ixedoc on a personal level for the past thirty years and i have found him a friendly and decent human being-as a fellow professional i do not agree with some of his medical conclusions-i have disagreed in public and he has rebutted in public-that is the essence of decent debate-i do not agree with mudslinging-regards
