As someone who has started blogging recently i would like to pen some impressions. as a student i was an amateur journalist-i was the classical example of the saying-jack of all trades-college president-amateur journalist-debater-college and district cricket captain, hockey player-badminton player-good enough in studies to skim through books and pass-a painter-in other words a dilletante-who found life very easy-till the harsh realities of life caught up with me-and then i found a lot of my contemporaries talking about expressing oneself through blogging.
Now as someone who is semiliterate regarding modern technology-mobiles, computers etc-especially computers-with a one fingertyping habit and an understanding of computers just to access my mails-i was at a loss on how to blog-till someone told me an old friend of mine is a blog icon-ixe.doc-i am a bit cautious about revealing his name as an inspiration for blogging because a comment to one of my earlier blogs was that i am using ixe.docs name to garner easy publicity. we are old friends and comfortable in our skins and individualities.
there are stages to blogging-which i would like to compare to marriage-the initial phase is a catharsis-like a honeymoon-when you express yourself day in and day out-imagining that your experiences have a uniqueness which should rivet everyones attention.
the second phase-is like a post honey moon phase-you look around a lot of people have experienced a honeymoon-a lot of people have experiences replicating yours-you are not very unique-at that moment of time your efforts become a bit laboured.
the third phase is like the phase when you have grown into a marriage-both husband and wife seem to have the same likes and dislikes-and this is the stage when a bloggers oracular pronouncements are tempered with a bit of maturity and understanding-
i have yet to reach the third stage-to all you bloggers happy blogging-hope you reach the equivalent of the bloggers zen master stage!
